Anyone who has ever made use of the address book capabilities of their smart phone knows how much easier it is to keep track of addresses, phone numbers, and personal information with the smart phone than with a traditional address book.
Remember back when you first got your new address book and spent hours painstakingly putting in all your contacts, their addresses, phone numbers and other pertinent information about each person only to have someone move, change phone numbers or simply disappear off the face of the earth a few weeks later making you have to scratch out information and add new information which resulted in a messy address book that often made it difficult to find the information you needed as quickly as you would like. To make matters worse new contacts often had to be squeezed into areas where they really didn't belong.
After all that switching and changing, it always seemed just when you needed that all important phone number your address book was in one place and you were in another. Many times, you found yourself wondering if that address book wasn't more of a nuisance than a help.
Then along came the new smart phones and low and behold you were able to not only keep your address book right in your phone, but arrange it in a way where you had all the necessary information right at your fingertips. When your aunt decided to move to a new location, it became easy to remove the old address and replace it with the new one. You could easily separate your business from personal contacts without the need for two different address books and you could even put pictures of your contacts next to the contact information so you have a visual reminder as to just who that salesman or service representative you are calling really is.
Better yet when you need to add a new contact to your smart phone address book you can add them in alphabetical order without having to re-enter all of your contacts in a new address book. Then, of course since your address book is right in the phone itself, you don't have to worry about your address book being somewhere else just when you need it the most.
When you use your smart phone's address book capabilities you can also add additional notes that may be helpful to you in remembering certain occasions or even quirks about your contacts. Keeping a back up of your smart phone's address book on your computer, a disk, or cloud storage can save you a lot of time and frustration should your smart phone get broken, stolen, or lost.
You can also synchronize your smart phone's address book with your calendar and other capabilities to help keep your entire life & work more organized. That's why every manager nowadays has a fancy smartphone in their pockets.
You really don't need an address book with all it's inherent problems when you have a fully functional smart phone address book right at the touch of your fingertips that allows you to not only store phone numbers and addresses in an orderly fashion but, allows you to do so much more than you could ever have done with that old fashioned address book.
